The Death of Email Marketing?
I hear a lot of talk about the demise of email marketing. True, it’s overall effectiveness has declined in recent years. That said, opt-in email marketing remains the most effective advertising method I’ve ever used.
Here are some thoughts and stats to consider …
A recent Direct Marketing Association study found e-mail marketing has an ROI of $57.25 for every dollar spent, over 150 percent greater than the ROI for non-e-mail online marketing. Opt-in email also provides a far superior ROI (a 14.2 index) to direct mail (7.2 index) according to the Direct Marketers Association. The truth of the matter is that most of us spend far more time processing e-mail than we do surfing the Web.
